Director of Operations m/f/d

For our new project with Ørsted in Providence, Rhode Island, we are looking for a motivated, experienced and hands-on Director of Operations, who supports us building up our operations in the US. HeliService will be conducting the flight operations to the first offshore wind farms in the US. We will conduct Crew Change Flights and Hoist Operations directly to the Wind Turbines. With some 27.000 Hoist Cycles HeliService is the world market leader in Hoisting. We will be operating 3 x Leonardo AW169 out of Quonset and will fly a Multi Crew Operation.

Your tasks

  • Organizing, directing, and supervising Flight Operations
  • Liaising with competent authority on all matters concerning flight operations
  • Revising the operations manual and SOPs
  • Reporting of accidents and incidents
  • Ensuring that all crew members are kept informed of any changes to the regulations and operating standards
  • Receiving and taking action with respect to any aeronautical information affecting the safety of flight
  • Disseminating internal and external helicopter safety information
  • Documenting and implementing corrective action requests deriving from Safety & Compliance Management Audits, inspections or any other assessment
  • Participating in the Safety-Management-System (SMS)

Your profile

  • Director of Operations requirements of FAR part 119.71 and part 135
  • Appropriate management experience, preferably in a comparable organization
  • Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices
  • Comprehensive knowledge of:
    • the applicable FAA safety regulations and any associated requirements and procedure
    • the AOC holder's operations specifications
    • the requirements and content of the relevant parts of the AOC holder's operations manual
  • AW169 type rating preffered
  • 1st / 2nd Class Medical
  • Knowledge of all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Strong IFR background
  • Offshore and hoist experience preferred
  • Very good English language skills, both verbal and written
  • Professional and client-oriented behavior
  • Reliability and flexibility
  • Previous Aviation management experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills
